BAFTA AWARDS
Marion Cotillard made sure all eyes were on her at the EE BAFTAs in a striking yellow Christian Doir gown.

Onlookers got a bit more of 37-year-old han they bargained for on the red carpet as a see-through panel in her dress almost managed to reveal her derriere as she walked the red carpet at London's Royal Opera House.
Although the French actress didn't seem to care as she grinned at fans, despite the pouring rain on Sunday evening.

BLOOD TIES PREMIERE

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Marion Cotillard dazzles in sequin encrusted mini dress for Two Days, One Night photo call at the 67th International Cannes Film Festival

By TANIA WILLIS and BAZ BAMIGBOYE
PUBLISHED: 11:14 GMT, 20 May 2014 | UPDATED: 11:43 GMT, 20 May 2014

When one looks like they have rolled around on the floor of a haberdashery in a mini dress, it shouldn't work, but it does.

Actress Marion Cotillard made a stylish impression in a showstopping sequin encrusted mini dress, which featured a colourful array of shimmering materials for the photo call of Two Days, One Night in Cannes on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old actress looked stunning in her statement dress, matching the look with paired back black open toe heeled boots.

SMarion's sequin mini dress made sure she stood out in the style stakes for her photo call in Cannes

The Oscar winning French actress revealed her deepest desire to the Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye in Cannes, to play a man on the big screen.

But one onlooker said the actress would never get away with it.

'Not looking as fabulous as she does today in that dress, with those legs', joked Peggy Siegal, one of New York's leading social and fashion commentators.

Tongue twister: Marion pulled a funny face as she signed autographs following a press conference

One of a kind: Marion's dress was custom made by Margiella couture for the occasion

Marion did indeed look more feminine than masculine in a Sixties-style, disco mini-dress encrusted with jewels, stones and beads which had been created for her by Margiella couture.

The star, who won an Academy Award for her portrayal of singer Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, and starred in blockbusters Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, was at the Cannes Film Festival for the gala of her new movie Two Days, One Night.

In the film she plays a woman fighting to retain her job after fellow workers vote for a pay bonus rather than allow her to stay at work.

Showstopping: Marion wowed in her colourful sequin embellished mini dress which showed off her long slim legs perfectly

Marion said she looks for challenging screenplays but would love to appear in a comedy or action movie.
Then she added: 'I'm fascinated with the idea of playing a man. It's impossible and that's why the idea attracts me.'

Later she said she liked seeing Cate Blanchett play Bob Dylan in a movie: 'I'm not sure what kind of man I would play. Women have taken the male roles on stage in Shakespeare.'

Centre of attention: Belgian director Luc Dardenne (left) and Jean-Pierre Dardenne (right) kissed Marion on the cheek during the photo call

'The idea of gender bending for a part is something that has been on my mind for some time', Marion explained to the Daily Mail.

She said she would like to transform herself noting that she can play 'ugly or beautiful'.

However, she said she would be looking very much like a woman on the red carpet when she attends the gala for Two Days, One Night with directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne.

Natural beauty: Mario went for minimal make-up for the photo call, and was joined by actor Fabrizio Rongio

So THAT's where she gets it from! Marion Cotillard wows Cannes in pleated gown while her mother Niseema Theillaud is just as glam in black frock
By ELEANOR GOWER
, 22 May 2014

She is one of the most beautiful women in the world, and it was clear on Wednesday just where Marion Cotillard gets her looks.

The 38-year-old French actress was joined at the Cannes Film Festival by her glamorous actress mother Niseema Theillaud.

Marion looked typically stunning in a pale grey pleated strapless midi-dress and sparkling heels, while her brown hair was pulled into an intricate updo.

So glam: Marion Cotillard arrived at the screening of In The Name Of My Daughter at the Cannes Film festival with her mother Niseema Theillaud on Wednesday night

Her mother - an actress and drama teacher, sported a pair of fashion forward vertiginous high heels and a black shift dress teamed with a chunky hold necklace.

The mother and daughter duo were lending their support to Marion's husband Guillaume Canet at the evening screening of his new movie In The Name Of My Daughter.

The French film, which co-stars Catherine Deneuve is screening out of competition at the festival.
Marion's most recent film The Immigrant opened in the U.S. last week.

Pleat something: Marion Cotillard looked stunning on the Cannes red carpet in a strapless pale grey gown as she arrived at the festival screening for In The Name Of My Daughter

Family affair: The duo were on hand to support Marion's husband Guillaume Canet in film In The Name Of My Daughter

In it, she plays Ewa, a Catholic Polish woman who arrives at Ellis Island in 1921 and is almost deported before being taken in by a theatre owner played by Joaquin Phoenix and working as a prostitute.

The star recently discussed working with Phoenix saying they spoke at length about the relationship between their characters.
'The thing is, these are very complex characters, and they have a very complex relationship, so we really needed to talk about it, because they don’t talk too much to each other,' she told the New York Times.
'So we really needed to create this very singular bond between them. And Joaquin has a very strong instinct, like an animal. He’s a wild animal.'

Bright lights big city: The star posed for a bank of photographers for the evening red carpet session

Old Hollywood glamour: All eyes were on Marion as she attended the screening of the French movie

The mother of one also revealed her extreme happiness to be 'living my dream.'

'When I was a teenager, I was not happy and I hated my life,' she revealed. 'And even later on, it took me a long time to try to love myself. That was something I thought would never happen. But thanks to my parents, I have the capacity to feel happy.

'I’m living my dream, and I still dream about this dream, and I still have a lot of dreams within this dream,' she added. 'And also just my evolution as a human being, and the people I meet, and the connection I have with myself and others, is getting stronger and stronger.'

All that glitters: Marion was on hand to support the French film at the prestigious festival

Leading lady: Marion Cotillard attends the taping of Le Grand Journal in Cannes on Wednesday

French elegance: Marion was given a warm reception ahead of her latest TV appearance

A suivre.

It doesn't create equality, it creates separation': Marion Cotillard says there is no place for feminism in the film industry

Marion Cotillard has said 'there is too much separation' in feminism

The French actress, who hits 40 this week, now puts family before work
Said she suffered with panic attacks while filming her latest film Macbeth

She is one of the leading ladies of our time, but Marion Cotillard has confessed she doesn't consider herself a feminist.

The French actress, who is currently promoting her new movie Macbeth, with Michael Fassbender, said she believes feminism 'separates' men and women, particularly in the film industry.
Marion, who turns 40 on Wednesday, told Porter magazine: ‘We’re separated already but we’re not made the same and it’s the difference that creates this energy in creation and love.'

Look a bit of all-white in Marion's floaty dress by Dior

She’s long been one of Dior’s most famous muses, so it seemed fitting for Marion Cotillard to grave the cover of Porter’s new issue in a sheer white gown from the Fall 2015 Couture collection.

We love how Marion has cinched in her waist in with the chic waist belt, giving the look an overall boho vibe with its oversized, billowing silhouette.

We also love the dress on its own as worn on the runway, and the off-shoulder detailing ensures your collar bone structure and shoulders are on show for a flash of flesh.

Unfortunately, Marion's exact dress is not available to buy online, but you can recreate her look in the edit below from the likes of VMT, Asos, Vanessa Bruno and more.

We'll be styling ours with espadrille wedges and a flower crown for the ultimate bohemian babe finish.

Gender-based quotas were proposed by a panel at Cannes last year to boost the representation of women in the film industry, but Marion - who has starred in Inception and La Vie en Rose - disagrees with the idea.

‘Film-making is not about gender,’ Marion said. ‘‘For me, it doesn’t create equality, it creates separation. I mean, I don’t qualify myself as a feminist. We need to fight for women’s rights, but I don’t want to separate women from men.'

Marion explained that she believed the differences between the sexes are what breeds 'creation and love', adding that the word 'feminism' creates 'too much separation'.

In her most recent role Marion stars as Lady Macbeth alongside Michael Fassbender in Justin Kerzel's film adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth, in cinemas October 2

Marion has said that it's the differences between the sexes that 'creates this energy in creation and love'.

Marion also spoke about putting her son before work and told how filming for the movie was so intense she suffered from panic attacks for the first time in her life.

She revealed she usually 'freaks out' when she first starts shooting a movie, but added this time was 'pretty physical and intense'.

Marion said she didn't know what a panic attack was, but was aware of the symptoms, so she was aware of what was happening to her.

The mother-of-one told hos she now puts family before work. 'I want to spend time with my kid. Because, well it's easier when you have a family and that's the priority,' she said

The actress, who received an Academy Award and Bafta for Best Actress in Le Vie en Rose and nominations for her role in Two Days, One Night and Rust And Bone, also spoke about how becoming a mum to son Marcel in 2011 has meant she can no longer stay in character when she leaves the set.
She said there are 'questions' about how someone can be 'two persons' at the same time - referring to being in character and being a mother.

The full interview with Marion Cotillard will be featured in the latest issue of Porter, on sale on Friday October 2.
